In July 2006 Pastor John C. Gblah and a group of 10 adults met in the basement of his home with the goal of organizing a church for the proclamation of the Gospel. This was in fulfillment of the “Great Commission”, “Go Ye Therefore” (Matt 28:19). The church soon outgrew the basement and went on to rent a meeting space, first in West Philadelphia, and now in South West Philadelphia. Agape would like to expand our outreach to include adult literacy classes, computer courses, after school programs and a host more youth centered activities to provide alternative social activities for at-risk youth in our community. Space is proving a limitation in our outreach efforts therefore we are working more diligently to begin renovation of a two building structure we acquired at 161-163 North 60th Street in West Philadelphia. The building plan for this facility was developed by licensed architects. The structure has the capacity to seat more than 100 persons, excluding offices, classrooms and a fellowship hall. The cost of the project including materials, workmanship, and furniture is estimated at $500,000. With the guidance of the Maker of the universe, we are confident that through contributions from God-fearing and humanitarian individuals like you, we can meet this goal. We would greatly appreciate your support (cash or materials), to this worthy cause. Contributions to Agape are deemed charitable under section 501(a) of the internal revenue code
